Cold nights and clear mornings make for some brilliant sunrises.
It was our first, really frosty morning yesterday, and these wonderful feathery, leaf-like ice patterns had formed on the roof of the car in the driveway. They glistened in the early sunlight but within an hour they had melted away.
Taken earlier this year, this is Astrantia minor, one of my favourite astrantias, and probably not as well known as Astrantia major and its variations.
