At long last it feels as though Spring is here, despite the chilling winds that are still blowing. But the sunny faces of the daffodils which have suddenly emerged en masse manage to brighten up even the dullest of days.
These handsome gargoyles are to be found in the walls of the ruined Rufford Abbey in Nottinghamshire. Rufford Abbey – and its adjacent park – is a former Cistercian abbey now in the care of English Heritage.
