TREE ROOTS

Like something out of Tolkien, these tree roots stretch down a bank as though attempting to slowly creep along to a new space.

SNEAK PEEK

I know, this is a spring photo of bluebells and now we are into autumn with the nights drawing in and the evenings turning chilly, but I found this picture and it made me smile.

WOODLAND PATH

I love woodland and the way the trees mark the seasons. It’s Spring, the beech trees have bright, lime-green. soft-to-the-touch leaves that gently filter the light rather than blocking it out. And the woodland flowers make their one-time bid to bloom and set seed before the canopy thickens up for the summer.

Taken last year in the woods at the side of the upper reaches of Derwent reservoir in Derbyshire.

BLACK AND WHITE

My first foray into black and white photography since my teenage years! This gnarled tree was growing in woodland next to the Kilburn White Horse in North Yorkshire and whilst the day was hot and sunny in the woods it was cool and calm.
